Hollowback is a 1/64 scale die cast toy car from the original 2005 Hot Wheels Acceleracers series, and is car #5 of the Metal Maniac line and # G8097 in the Hot Wheels collection. The Silk Red-colored Hollowback sports black flames and was designed by Mattel Designer Phil Rhielman. The Hollowback was made in 17 different versions from 2005 to 2018.

Hollowback can be purchased as part of the 4 car Metal Maniac Set #1 or individually along with the Jack Hammer, Rivited and Rollin Thunder Acceleracers cars.

The Red 2005 Hollowback resembles a modern-day Dodge Challenger with a futuristic, or even dystopian (post-apocalyptic) upgrade. Between an engine that looks like an electric/fossil fuel hybrid powerhouse, side exhaust pipes that are riveted to a metal frame, and the fan in the back that looks contribute to back-end performance (and the namesake), the Hollowback is a mean looking car that has definitely been overlooked

In the Acceleracers cartoons, the car is driven by Taro Kitano.

Metal Maniacs consist of 9 different models and are part of the Acceleracers series of Hot Wheels Toy cars manufactured by the Mattel Toy Company in El Segundo California. The Acceleracers was introduced by Mattel in 2004 and were distributed through retail sales as part of a promotion by McDonald's and Warner Brothers.
